If you are bored of updating status through text messages , then Aircel has something new to offer. All Aircel subscribers can now perform 'voice updates' for their Facebook status by simply calling 51555. The end result won't be a speech to text translation or anything, because let's face it, that would be a utter disaster given our varied accents. Instead, the message will appear as a audio recording on your wall, which your friends can listen by just clicking it. The reason for such a feature would probably be the low percentage of smartphone users in India.
Compared to Europe and the US, smartphone adoption is still at a nascent stage here. Many people would like to update their status but may find smartphones a bit intimidating. That's where Aircel's initiative comes in. This is a far simpler way of updating your status by simply calling a number rather than subscribing for a GPRS plan and then buying a decent enough phone in order to access the Facebook app.
Whether other countries get a similar update still remains to be seen, but it's certainly a novel idea to make Facebook accessible to the masses while on the move.

"Mistakes do happen but some of them are good" . About 14 hours ago, Facebook faced a downtime and by mistake, number of internal prototype features were made live for about 45 minutes. Later, features like Lightbox UI for photos, new Pages, Memories option, experimental Outside World features, and the Submit button were removed from the facebook . Amongst many lucky ones who got the access, Mashable got hold of a few screenshots of upcoming Facebook feature prototypes.
After facing downtime, websites apologise. But this time, as a few internal prototype features were exposed during the Facebook downtime, Facebook amicably admitted that " some internal prototypes were accidentally exposed to people externally" through its official Twitter and Facebook account.
This is year-wise a timeline that shows all your status updates, photos, friends, Likes and Events. It's like a walk down the memory lane from the time you joined the social network.
Outside World Filter:
Lightbox UI for Photos:
Since Facebook has become like a dump-ground for pics, several users love to browse through the photos or pics they uploaded, got tagged and even friends photos. This is a nifty update enabled using right and left arrow keys to move forward and back between photos. With Lightbox UI, when you click on the photo, it will become the center of your attention and everything in the background will go black. This is something similar to what Flickr has recently adopted.
Submit Button Elopes:
An experimental update might be rolled out to remove the Submit button below any text box on Facebook. Tell you honestly, that will puzzle millions.
These are the features that were spotted by several users who managed to get through them when Facebook made them live accidentally. Of course now you are aware of what's in store for you in coming few months.
